Using a Palm for a 2026 Planner

With the hell that is modern internet and smart devices I decided to start using a old Palm Pilot as my daily planner.

Yes I know crazy to think a GenZ would be using a palm device for daily planning but guess what I don’t want to have to be fighting with google calender or even things like OwnCloud’s calender app is starting to get on my nerves.

What I do that really has saved my sanity is simple.

I treat Google Calendar as a ingestion machine then move things I actually wanna do or things I have to do into a virtual machine that runs the Palm Software.

I’ve even recently explored returning to using the Franklin Planner system with the desktop software by default syncing with Palm, I’m even able to run it inside a Windows NT 4.0 Virtual Machine to really streamline things.

Between Podcasts, Following 6 separate E-Sports, regular sports, regular commitments and everything else it just made sense to treat Google as the dumping ground then manually filter what seems important.

One plus of having a docking option like the palm, I can make undock the device and just walk off with my streamlined calendar rather then being bombard with crap I don’t need.

I personally wish I didn’t have to use a VM and could cut more steps out but that’s for another day, if anyone has suggestions my comment section is always wide open.
